Transit Stories: When a Venus-Mercury Conjunction gets in the wrong hands

Another funny example of the silliness of astrological transits.

Astrology shows everything that happens on earth, even 'banal' stuff. This is what happened at 14 november 2022 21:05 in Antwerp, and how this planetary snapshot played out for me.

The Ascendant was at 26°01' in Cancer. Mercury and Venus were making a conjunction at 26°01' in Scorpio. The Ascendant and Merc-Venus were making an exact trine. Right at that moment, I got all of the glittery green, sticky and very stinky chemical liquid ink from a broken acryl marker all over my hands. How does this correlate?

The Ascendant is the symbol of the current situation. In this case, Cancer is on the Ascendant. Cancer is ruled by the Moon, and the Moon often shows our bodies. So it was likely that something very literal and material would happen to our bodies at that moment. Scorpio also hates the Moon (she is in Scorpio's detriment), so it wouldn't be pretty.

Two planets in a conjunction combine their meanings. So a Merc-Venus conjunction can show all kinds of things that have to do with the combination of their inherent symbolism.

Venus is art, so there you have the art (acryl marker and glitter ink); and Mercury often rules tools and hands. Mercury rules metallic, glittery, fluorescent and complex colors - just like the color of the marker. Mercury is by some authors associated with the color green, just like Venus. So there was a big chance for something green to come through! The planets were a water sign, Scorpio, which rules all liquids. So the sudden burst of green (=Mercury and Venus) glittery and fluorescent (=Mercury) liquid (=Scorpio) all over the place, especially on my hands (=Mercury), was right there. The Sun was very near too: combust planets are more prone to accidents.

Venus is in exile in Scorpio, which means this is a nasty Venus. It shows how the chemical substance stinks and stings on my skin.

The accident happened while I was wrapping a present for my father in beautiful paper with flowers on it: a very Venusian (and 5th house) thing to do. It happened while I was in our personal 'creativity room' at home, so this is a 5th house place. In this chart, Venus co-rules fathers (as ruler of the fourth house). The green liquid tainted the present too, by the way.

It's also notable that there was a Grand Trine in the water signs, with Jupiter Retrograde in Pisces being at the top corner of the triangle. Jupiter rules the sixth house, house of accidents and misfortunes. So while this Jupiter is very nicely positioned at the MC, at that very moment it contributed its part in the cosmic prank against me.

A dignified Jupiter always adds some grace to a situation, however. So even if it contributed to an annoying situation, it wasn't deadly or overly serious.

Note that the Moon makes an exact aspect via contra-antiscion with Mercury. The Moon rules our bodies. So it is a bodily experience. I have even a little headache of the chemical odour that is on my hands now. I have a job interview in a few days, so I hope the green will be gone by then.

What about my neighbours?

But Terre, this transit is the same for every person in the same location. Do you claim that every citizen of Antwerp got green hands around nine o'clock that evening?

A transit can play out in a myriad of ways, but it will always be consistent with the planetary symbolism.

For example, my partner was having a volunteer job interview at the same moment the ink spilled over my hands. They told me that around 21:05 they were coming to an agreement.

The conversation (=Mercury, who rules interview and conversations) was about teaching art workshops (Mercury rules teaching, Venus rules art) to young people (5th house). The aspect with Jupiter, shows that the conversation is about work (Jupiter is in this chart the ruler of the 6th and the 10th house). Can you see how the same planetary positions show a completely different situation?

The endless vocabulary of the universe

There are so many ways in which we go collectively through the same motions. It's possible that someone was seeing something on the television that resonated with the symbolism of this conjunction. Or they were having sex (a very 5th house thing to do). Or they were doing the dishes (a Venus-Mercury conjunction in a water sign would be a very good representation of cleaning dishes by hand), just to name some possibilities. But the universe is infinitely more creative!

When you get more and more into astrology, every detail in life starts to be uncanny and funny. By the time my partner came  home, they were in much sweat from the nerves and the bike ride. Because of all this moistness, their leather handbag had made big black stains on the  back of their fluorescent vest. It was a faint echo of the fact that I too had been stained by this astrological moment.
